Reports: Alert Detail Report – filter by a specific Alert

In release v2.18.6, we’ve added the ability to filter an Alert Detail Report by a specific Alert. Prior to this release, you could filter Alert Detail reports by an Alert Type (ex: Speeding, Location Entry, etc). Now, you can choose an Alert Type OR a specific Alert from a picklist (ex: Delivery Trucks speeding 10 mph over the limit).

AEMP 2.0 Support

In release v2.18.6, we’ve added the ability to pull in OEM Equipment and Location Data via the newer AEMP 2.0 telematics api standard (ISO 15143-3). Prior to this release, we only supported the AEMP 1.x standard. This is especially important for our John Deere customers, whose OEM feed only supports the newest AEMP 2.0 standard.

International SMS Phone # support

You can now send SMS Alert Notifications to both US and international phone numbers.

For US numbers, enter 10 digit numbers only with no spaces. For non-US numbers enter the country code and the phone numbers with no spaces.

Navman Support

The TeMeDa app now has support for Navman gps telematics devices. You can now add Assets from your Navman account into TeMeDa. This will allow for a unified fleet view of all your assets within a single app.

Documents Tab

We’ve added the ability to upload and view Documents on Assets and Maintenance Logs. You can upload any number of files, documents, pdfs, or photos – and associate those documents to an Asset or Maintenance Log. Simply tap the Docs tab to view photos – or add any type of Document within the Add/Edit Asset or Add/Edit Maintenance Log screens.

You can quickly use your phone camera to add photos to Assets or Maintenance Logs – or choose one or more photos from your phone’s photo library. You can also choose GoogleDrive, DropBox or other cloud sources for your documents. You can download documents onto your phone and save them to your library.

We’ve added a new feature to quickly get directions to any Asset. Just tap the arrow on the address line within the Asset Detail view and your phone will provide directions using Apple Maps or Google Maps – you can even request an Uber ride to your Asset!

Documents Tab

We’ve added Documents to Assets, Asset Dashboard, Maintenance Plans, and Maintenance Logs. Documents allows you to upload any number of files, documents, pdfs, or photos – and associate those documents to an Asset, Maintenance Plan, or Maintenance Log. Simply drag and drop files from your computer directly to the new Documents tab. Users can then view Asset Documents in the Asset Dashboard, or Maintenance Documents in the Plans or Logs.

“Live Look” feature added for Assets with Cameras

We’ve added our “Live Look” feature for Assets with on-board cameras. Now you can view a live video stream of your Assets driving down the road, and can easily switch from dashboard camera to driver camera for units with multiple cameras. The Live Look feature can be accessed by tapping an Asset to view the Asset Detail page, then tap the “Live” camera icon.

Restricted Admin Support

We’ve also added support for the new “Restricted Admin” user role. Restricted Admins that have been granted Asset access can now edit and delete Assets using the phone app.

Hierarchy Reports

We’ve added Account Hierarchy to Reports. This allows customers to run reports by one or more Account Hierarchy levels. For example, an account is configured with 3 hierarchy levels, the top parent company, East and West Regions, and several Divisions within each Region. Customers can now run a report for the East Region, and/or select the Division level and run a report for any number of Divisions.

User List – Filter by Group

We’ve added a new Group filter on the User List page. This allows Admins the ability to easily view and sort Users that are assigned to a particular Group. The User list can also be exported to Excel.

SmartWitness Virtual Odometer

We’ve added virtual odometer to the SmartWitness line of telematics devices/cameras. Now the SmartWitness device will automatically calculate the distance each asset has driven throughout the day. Users can initialize the odometer on the Asset Detail page and the device will continually update the odometer as the asset drives down the road. You can view odometer/mileage on the Asset Pop-Up, Grid, History Trail, Activity Detail, Activity Summary, and State Mileage Reports, and you can create Maintenance Plans based upon actual mileage driven.

Activity Summary Report – New Report

We’ve added a new Report: Activity Summary Report.  The Activity Summary Report summarizes the distance traveled, time in motion, time stopped, Engine time, Idle time and other important information about your assets without the details that make up each trip and the pages and pages of data.

Smartphone App – Camera Events

We’ve added Camera Events to the smartphone app! You can now view camera footage from your vehicles right on your smartphone. Play and save video from camera events such as Shock, Panic Button, and other User Requested Video events of vehicle accidents or driver behavior. Camera Events are available from the Main Menu for customers with on-board SmartWitness cameras. We’ve also made performance improvements on the Main Menu.

Account Hierarchy 2

In TeMeDa app v2.12 we have added support for customers to create their own Account Hierarchies up to 5 levels deep. This feature allows a TeMeDa ‘parent’ account to create ‘child’ customer accounts, and those child customer accounts can also have their own child accounts, and so on. Admins can create any number of child accounts within 5 levels. Users can then be created and assigned to individual child accounts. Assets assigned to the parent account can be re-assigned down to child accounts. Account Hierarchy allows for clear separation of Assets, Users, Groups, Projects, Locations, Zones, Alerts, and Maintenance amongst the various business units, regions and departments within an organization. Account Hierarchy can be accessed by account Admins using the Admin, Account, Account Hierarchy menu.

Example 1: A large corporation with multiple Regions and Departments:

Parent Company ACME Logistics has 2 regions: Midwest and East. The Midwest region has 2 Departments: Operations and Logistics. The East region also has 2 Departments: Sales and Marketing. ACME parent company can assign Assets to each child Region, and each Region can re-assign those assets down to individual Departments. In this scenario, the Midwest Region has no visibility to the Assets in the East Region and vice versa. Also, the Midwest Operations Department has no visibility to Assets in the Midwest Logistics Department or any other Department.

Example 2: An OEM Manufacturer with multiple Dealerships and Customers:

Parent Company ACME Equipment has 50 dealerships with each dealership selling products to many customers: ACME Equipment can create child accounts for each dealership. Each dealership can have its own Assets, Users, Groups, Alerts, etc. that are separate from the parent account. Each dealership is isolated for others dealerships information. ACME Equipment can provide each of its dealerships with a secure and separate telematics solution. In turn, each dealership can offer this same service to its own customers. Each customer is isolated from all other customers.

Example 3: A mid-size company with many customers:

Parent Company ACME Rentals has 100 customers: ACME Rentals can create child accounts for each customer. Each customer can have its own Assets, Users, Groups, Alerts, etc that are separate from the parent account. Each customer is isolated from other customer accounts. ACME Rentals can provide each of its customers with a secure and separate telematics solution.

Asset Detail – Added the ability to configure Asset within Hierarchy

Customers now have the ability to set the Account Hierarchy of an Asset directly in the Asset Detail page. Prior to this release, customers needed to make Hierarchy updates in the Hierarchy List pages. Now, when adding or editing an Asset, navigate to the new “Hierarchy” tab to configure the asset within a particular account within your corporate hierarchy.

New Alert: Time Limit Exceeded and No Movement outside Location(s)

The new “Time Limit Exceeded and No Movement outside Location(s)” Alert will trigger when one or more assets is located outside one or more known geo-fence Locations, has not moved, and has been in that state for greater than the configured time period in hours.  This alert can be used to detect vehicles/operators that have stopped outside of your known work locations for an extended period of time.

The History Trail Map view now displays an overlay of any geo-fence Locations that an Asset stopped in during the time frame selected. Locations can be toggled on/off by clicking the Show/Hide Locations button.

Active or Inactive Locations, Zones, and Projects

Customers now have the ability to set Locations, Zones, or Projects as Active on Inactive. Only active items will show in the Accordion and Alerts. Inactive items will still show up on the Admin Menu so that they can be re-activated or deleted. This allows customers to keep all Locations, Zones, and Projects in the system but to activate only those items in use to keep the user interface clean and un-cluttered.

Customer Admins now have the ability to manage all alert Notifications in one central location. Admins can go to the new Admin | Account | Notifications menu to add/edit/delete alert notification email addresses and sms text message phone numbers.

International Language support for Assets and Alerts

The app now has support for international characters on Asset Name, Descriptions, and Alert messages.

Admins can now quickly create Groups by using the Grid to sort/filter assets, then clicking the Add Group.

New User Role – Restricted Admin

We’ve added a new User Role named “Restricted Administrator”. A Restricted Admin has read-only visibility to all Assets in his/her organization on the Map, Accordion, Alerts, Maintenance and Reports, however, the Restricted Admin can be configured with limited Add/Edit/Delete capabilities for all system entities. System entities include Account Hierarchy, Account Notifications, Assets, Cameras, Drivers, Groups, Locations, Projects, Sensors, Unassigned Devices, and Zones. For example, an Admin can create a Restricted Admin that can only Add/Edit/Delete Account Notifications and Groups. This user cannot Add/Edit/Delete other entities such as Assets, Drivers, etc.

Maintenance Logs

You can now Log Maintenance from within the app and view the Tasks associated with each service interval. We’ve added a view to see the Service History for each Asset, and you can view the Total Cost of Maintenance for your fleet or for individual Assets.

Asset Search using Barcode scanner

We’ve added the ability to find Assets using the barcode scanner on the Asset Search screen. Customers can affix any type of barcode (line, QR code, DataMatrix, etc) to their Assets and easily find those Assets using the built-in scanner in the app.

From the Locations menu, you can now see the Assets that are currently within the selected Location, and focus on any Asset using the Asset slider for that Location.

Account Hierarchy 1

In TeMeDa app v2.11 we have added support for customers to create their own Account Hierarchies. User Impersonation

Admins can now impersonate any Non-Admin users, and can impersonate both Admins and Non-Admins in child account hierarchies. This way, an Admin can replicate the experience of a user within his organization, without asking that user for his/her credentials. This allows Admins the ability to verify the accessibility of Assets, Groups, Locations, etc for any User. User impersonation is especially useful for simulating the experience of users within child account hierarchies.

Primary Asset

Assets can now have a “Primary Asset”. Only Primary Assets are displayed on the Map. This is useful for Assets that have multiple telematics devices installed on a single vehicle or piece of equipment. When multiple assets in the system are associated to a single Primary Asset, the Map will only display the Primary Assets so as to not clutter up the Map.

New Alert: Location Time-Limit Exceeded

The new “Location Time-Limit Exceeded” Alert will trigger when one or more assets is located within a geo-fence Location greater than the configured time period in hours.

New Alert: Location In/Out

The new “Location In/Out” Alert will trigger when one or more assets goes in or out of a geo-fence Location. This alert allows a simpler approach to the process of setting up both a “Location Entry” and a “Location Exit” alert for customers who want to know when an Asset enters and leaves a location.

TeMeDa API Portal – Production Release

The TeMeDa API is a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) developed by TeMeDa which allow communication with TeMeDa Services and their integration to other services. Examples of these include Asset information such as odometer and engine hours, Locations, Reports, Maintenance, History Trails, and Alerts. TeMeDa customers can use these APIs to take advantage of or extend the functionality of their existing services and internal applications.

The TeMeDa API portal provides a comprehensive list of RESTful JSON-based APIs that allow TeMeDa customers the ability to securely view, analyze and manage their telemetry devices and data. Developers can use this portal to discover and learn about the TeMeDa APIs, and can try out the various API calls right within the portal to view real-time production data in their customer account.

Barcode Scanner

The TeMeDa smartphone app and the TeMeDa Installer app now allow you to scan the telematics device serial number barcode when adding or editing Assets. This will allow Admins and Installers with the ability to quickly select devices without having to scroll through long lists of serial numbers and will help prevent the wrong device from getting entered into the app.

Description:

TeMeDa is an asset tracking, monitoring and management solution for a wide variety of powered and un-powered assets such as cars, trucks, tractors, trailers, construction equipment, cranes, excavators, generators, shipping containers and much more. TeMeDa transforms your fleet data into useful information and actionable intelligence. You can locate and monitor your assets, reduce costs, improve utilization, and maximize productivity. TeMeDa is a comprehensive mixed-fleet GPS telematics solution that is simple to use and easy to install.

The new TeMeDa Native App is a powerful asset management tool available on your Android or Apple smartphone. You must be an existing TeMeDa customer to launch the TeMeDa Native App. Some of the TeMeDa Native App features include:

  • View the location and status of all your vehicles and assets in real-time on a map.
  • Get real-time vehicle information such as speed, odometer, engine hours, battery voltage, fuel level, coolant temp, rpm, idling, etc.
  • Go back in time to view and play back the history trail of an asset.
  • Receive and view Alerts on your phone for system triggered events such as speeding, off-hours usage, geo-fence locations, maintenance due, etc.

TeMeDa Native App 1.0.0 Release Features

After a successful login, the TeMeDa Native App Home screen will appear. The Home screen provides quick access to the most common features of the app. You can easily return to the Home screen by tapping the Home icon within the app.

  1. Assets – displays a searchable list of all your Assets with basic information and provides drill-down capability to view all Asset details including History Trail, Alerts, Maintenance, and Driver information.
  2. Map – displays a map of all your Assets.
  3. Menu – quick access to Drivers, Groups, Projects, Locations, Zones, and Unassigned Devices.
  4. Alerts – displays all company-wide alerts in the past 24 hours.
  5. Pulse – displays a dashboard of your company’s Pulse: Alerts and Asset Utilization in the past 7 days.
  6. Maintenance – displays the overall Maintenance Status for each asset in your fleet – what’s Due, Overdue, and Not Due.

The Pulse screen provides a quick dashboard overview of your fleet’s pulse – which includes the number of Alerts in the last 24 hours and your Asset Utilization in the past 24 hours along with a bar graph of utilization over the last 7 days.

Maintenance

The Maintenance screen provides a quick dashboard overview of your fleet’s maintenance status – showing all Assets that have been associated to service plans and when each asset is due for maintenance. You can easily filter each category by tapping the All, Overdue, Due, or Not Due tabs.

TeMeDa App 2.10.0 Release Features

The TeMeDa web portal now supports both Imperial and Metric units of measure. Individual users may now set their preferred unit of measure. The units of measure will be displayed throughout the system including the Asset Popup, Dashboard, Alerts, Maintenance, and Reports.
